
Winona Police Identify 67-Year-Old E-Biker Killed in Crash With Car, Motorist’s Name Also Released
Winona, MN (KROC-AM News)- Authorities in Winona have identified the driver and e-biker who were involved in a fatal crash earlier this week.

First responders were dispatched to the deadly crash at the intersection of East Broadway/6th St. and Liberty St. around 8:00 Monday night.
A news release issued by the Winona Police Department says the man operating the e-bike was pronounced dead at the scene.

On Wednesday night, Winona police released the names of the e-biker and car driver.

The preliminary investigation indicated a car was making a left turn onto Liberty St. from westbound 6th St. when it turned into the bath of the eastbound e-bike.
Police said the glare from the setting sun may have been a factor in causing the fatal crash.
Responding officers found the man on the e-bike laying in the street facedown and unconscious, the news release says.
First responders began immediate life-saving measures on the biker but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
67-year-old Michael John Ryan of Winona was identified as the e-biker. Police say he was not wearing a helmet.
The news release says 54-year-old Gregory Stephen Ferriss of Winona was driving the car. Winona Police say the investigation is ongoing.
Alcohol and drug impairment are not suspected factors in the fatality, the news release says. The Minnesota State Patrol was requested to the scene to conduct a crash reconstruction.
