Wisconsin Woman Convicted of Vehicle Theft Accused of Burglarizing Rochester Home

Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A Wisconsin woman who was given a chance to avoid prison for a vehicle theft in Rochester is now facing burglary and assault charges.

That’s according to a criminal complaint filed in Olmsted County Court on Friday. 

The new case alleges the burglary and assault, which involved an officer, occurred less than two weeks after she was sentenced in the prior case.

45-year-old Christina Marie Sievert was sentenced last month to a five year stayed prison for stealing a vehicle from a Rochester bar then ramming it into a vehicle at a Rochester apartment complex in February.

The new case accuses Sievert of entering an unlocked and unoccupied home then assaulting an officer on the afternoon of October 30.

Rochester police responded to a southeast Rochester neighborhood on the report of a woman, later identified as Sievert, attempting to break into multiple homes before successfully entering a residence, the complaint says. 

Responding officers found Sievert inside of the empty home. The charges also say she had made a frozen pizza and was wearing the victim’s clothing. 

The victim also said a glass decoration in their home had been broken, the complaint says. 

A neighbor told officers Sievert had attempted to break into a trailer on their property before entering the victim’s home. Another neighbor reported coming home to find their front door open and their cat outside, the court document says. 

One of the residents of that home said they confronted Sievert, who was seen walking towards the victim's home and said Sievert had thrown an object at them.

Neither one of the victim’s neighbors reported property damage or missing items, the charges say. 

Sievert then scratched one of the arresting officers arms after being brought to the Olmsted County Jail, according to the complaint. The officer had visible scratch marks. 

On Friday Sievert was formally charged with second-degree burglary, fourth-degree assault of a peace officer and misdemeanor trespassing. Her bail was set at $50,000 and she is due back in court later this month.
