Charges for Rochester Man Seen with Airsoft Gun at Medical Call
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- The Olmsted County Attorney’s Office filed charges this week against the Rochester man accused of disrupting a medical call with an airsoft gun and having meth in his vehicle while it was parked at an elementary school.
A Rochester Police spokesman said officers responded to the report of a man with a rifle standing outside of a home paramedics and firefighters responded to for a medical call involving a child around 3 a.m. Monday. The first responders told police the man got into a vehicle that officers later tracked to Ben Franklin Elementary School in southeast Rochester.
The criminal complaint says officers then performed a felony traffic stop and arrested 35-year-old George McIntosh II. Officers at the scene believed McIntosh was under the influence of meth based on statements he made. One of the statements included him saying he was in a drill to practice wiring a car into a bomb, the charges say.
Officers searched McIntosh’s vehicle and discovered a substance that tested positive for 4.9 grams of methamphetamine. Police also found drug paraphernalia and 10 airsoft guns in his vehicle, according to the complaint.
McIntosh made his first appearance in Olmsted County Court on Wednesday. His bail was set at $100,000 and he was arraigned on felony third-degree possession and gross misdemeanor charges of carrying a BB gun in public, and two counts of controlled substance DWI. His next court appearance is set for January 31.
