Update: Woman Airlifted to Hospital Following Serious Injury Crash Near Byron
Byron, MN (KROC-AM News)- The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office has released more information about a serious injury crash that occurred on Wednesday afternoon.

Mayo One Helicopter was among the emergency resources that were deployed to the crash scene near Byron around 12:20 p.m.
Preliminary reports indicated one of the people involved in the collision was trapped in their vehicle and had to be extricated.
Woman Extricated From Vehicle Following Crash Near Byron Flown to Hospital
On Thursday morning Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office Captain Tim Parkin said the crash happened near the intersection of Olmsted County Rd. 3 and 14th St. Northwest, which is on the eastern edge of Byron.
The preliminary crash investigation indicates a vehicle occupied by two men was traveling north on County Rd. 3 and had slowed to make a turn when it was rear-ended by a car.
The driver of the car, described as a woman, was trapped inside of her vehicle, Parkin said. Members of the Byron Fire Department had to extricate the woman.
She was then flown to a nearby hospital by Mayo One. Parkin says an update on her condition is not available.
The two men in the vehicle that was rear ended were not hurt. The names of the men and woman involved in the crash have not been released.
