
Body Found in Field Suspected to be Minnesota Man Who Vanished Sunday Morning

New Prague, MN (MinnesotaNow)- Authorities suspect a body found in a southern Minnesota field Tuesday is a man who was reported missing over the weekend.

That’s according to a news release issued by the New Prague Police Department.
Members of the community joined the law enforcement search effort for the missing man. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension issued a missing person alert for the New Prague man on Monday.

New Prague Police: Body Found in Field Tuesday Suspected to be 24-Year-Old Minnesota Man Last Seen Sunday Morning
24-year-old Logan Sampson was last seen leaving his home in New Prague early Sunday morning, the alert said.
He was last seen on a camera around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, according to New Prague Police.
The alert indicated Sampson was traveling on foot. Shortly before 11:00 Tuesday morning law enforcement, with the assistance of a drone, found a body in a field in rural New Prague.

“The body found in the field is suspected to be the same male reported missing on September 7,” the New Prague Police Department news release says.
Officials say the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office will make an official identification and determine the cause and manner of death.
New Prague Police shared their gratitude for the law enforcement agencies and community members who partook in the search effort and provided support to the family.
The case remains under investigation, the news release says.
