Another Conviction in MN Stuffed Animal Fentanyl Trafficking Case
St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - A man from Indiana has entered a guilty plea to a federal charge connected to a massive seizure of fentanyl in Minnesota.
The US Attorney for Minnesota says 25-year-old Da'Shawn Natori Domena conspired with others to distribute the highly addictive and often deadly opioid in the state. Court documents outline evidence that shows the conspirators smuggled fentanyl pills from Arizona to addresses throughout the Twin Cities area inside stuffed animals.
Court documents say law enforcement agencies in several Twin Cities counties became aware of the trafficking and initiated a joint investigation. The law enforcement operation led to the seizure of six packages containing more than 66 pounds of fentanyl pills, which was described as Minnesota's largest ever confiscation of fentanyl.
Domena has admitted to a single count of conspiracy to distribute fentanyl. His sentencing hearing has yet to be scheduled.

Another man charged in the case, 25-year-old Cornell Montes Chandler Jr. of St. Paul was recently sentenced to more than 13 years in prison. Four other people were also charged with being involved in the conspiracy.
