Update: Man Who Triggered Minnesota Amber Alert Also Suspected in Fatal Shooting 

Update: The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension says 33-year-old Nikkole Dobson and her four children are ages 14, 11, seven and three, were found safe in Morrison County. The suspect, 35-year-old Chad Aanerud, was captured and is now in custody.

Previous Story: Brainerd, MN (KROC-AM News)- Minnesota authorities have issued an Amber Alert for a pregnant woman and her four children who were abducted at gunpoint.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) says the reported armed abduction occurred at 1:50 Friday morning. Officials sent the Amber Alert around 6:30 a.m. Friday. 

The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office says the abduction occurred at a residence northeast of Brainerd.

Amber Alert: Pregnant Mother & Her Four Children Abducted at Gunpoint from Brainerd Residence

Authorities have identified the abduction victims as 33-year-old Nikkole Dobson. Her four children are ages 14, 11, seven and three. 

Dobson is described as 5 feet, 7 inches tall, 198 pounds, with green eyes and reddish brown hair. 

35-year-old Chad Aanerud, who authorities say is Dobson’s boyfriend, is identified as the abduction suspect. Aanerud is described as 6 feet, 2 inches tall, 185 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. 

Authorities say he is driving a white, 2017, Chrysler Pacifica minivan with Minnesota license plate AEC 351. 

The BCA says Aanerud entered the home, located in the 15000 block of Loerch Road, where Dobson and the children were staying around 1:50 a.m.

He then fired a gunshot from a rifle into the home’s ceiling and forced Dobson and the children to leave the residence with him, according to the BCA.

Authorities are asking anyone who sees the suspect or vehicle to not approach and immediately call 911.
