The Northland is full of Halloween family fun again this year. From Boo At The Zoo at the Lake Superior Zoo to many Trunk-Or-Treat events and more, there's plenty to keep kids happy and full of candy.

One Duluth event had just begun when it was forced to stop due to the pandemic, but good news recently arrived when organizers announced it was returning, and hopefully, it remains an annual tradition.

The organizers are the staff at the City of Duluth and the place families get to trick-or-treat before Halloween is City Hall.

City Of Duluth Announces The Return Of City Hall-oween

It's back! Duluth City Hall will again be open for trick-or-treaters for its City Hall-oween event, which is scheduled for Wednesday, October 30 from 3:00 to 4:00 pm.

City Hall-oween provides a safe place for Northland children to come in costume and trick-or-treat from each department housed in City Hall on the day before Halloween.

Organizers have the following guidelines in place for Halloween costumes allowed in City Hall, to make sure they all abide by the building's use policy:

  • No masks or items that can hide your face/identity (surgical masks used for health purposes are fine).
  • No violent or offensive costumes.
  • No gang references or horror characters.
  • No weapons.
  • No costumes that demean race, religion, nationality, gender, or handicap conditions.

City Hall-oween was first started in 2019 as a way to encourage City staff to participate in decorating their work spaces at City Hall, and to invite their families, as well as families from the public, to trick-or-treat at City Hall.
