Ever since Star Wars first hit movie theaters on May 25, 1977, it has created millions of fans, a lot of sequels, and plenty of spin-off series and merchandise.

Of course, not all Star Wars-related things are created equal. While the movies have, for the most part, been well done and entertaining, there have been notable misfires with Star Wars television shows, such as the almost-so-bad-it's-good "Star Wars Holiday Special".

The Star Wars universe began when I was a little kid, so I thought I'd seen just about everything related to it. At least that's what I had thought until I saw what was coming soon to Minnesota. Now, I have something else I must see and this could end up being one of my favorites yet!

Star Wars As You've Never Seen It Before

It was when I was scanning through social media that I saw that a live show that originated in Australia in 2011 and had since made the rounds throughout the United States, was coming to Minneapolis.

Are you ready for 'sultry Stormtroopers, a dangerously enticing Boba Fett, some tantalizing Twi'leks, a delightfully luke-warm Taun Taun, a lady-like Skywalker', and sexy droids?

'The Empire Strips Back' is billed as a "one-of-a-kind evening full of comedy, allure, and sci-fi, dropping the saga’s most iconic characters into the world of burlesque."

Yes, a funny, sexy, rowdy burlesque take on Star Wars is coming to Minneapolis! The reviews of 'The Empire Strips Back' have been fantastic. For example, the LA Weekly wrote "The attention to detail in the costuming is astounding, the enthusiasm and the energy of the dancers is unparalleled in this galaxy or any other."

I've seen burlesque shows before and they are a lot of fun. My wife and I recently enjoyed one in Nashville, but that was an old-school throwback burlesque show. I'm now looking forward to seeing one from a galaxy far, far away.

LOOK: 35 Vintage Cereals That Perfectly Captured Pop Culture Moments

Movies and TV shows have always found ways to partner with cereal companies as part of their promotion strategy.
