Up To 7 Inches of Rain Reported West of Rochester (UPDATE)
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - As of early Saturday, the National Weather Service had reported that up to 5 to 7 inches of rain had fallen in parts of Dodge and Western Olmsted Counties.
A flash flood warning was posted through 1:30 a.m. for the western parts of Olmsted County and all of Dodge County because of the torrential rains that have fallen on the old ready saturated soils in the region. Just before Midnight, the rainfall totals in Kasson and Byron were just under 7 inches and there were multiple reports of flooded roads. Shortly after 1 AM, the Minnesota Department of Transportation was reporting flooding on the east and westbound lanes of Highway 14 at Kasson.
Law enforcement officials are urging anyone who encounters water covering the roadway to turn around. Most flooding deaths occur in vehicles where a motorist who is attempted to cross flooded roadways.

occurring across northern Dodge County. Up to two inches of rain
has already fallen within the warned area.

Dodge Center, Mantorville, Kasson, Byron, West Concord, Claremont,
Wasioja, Rock Dell, Concord, Eden, and Danesville.
Additional rainfall amounts of one to two are possible in the warned
area before rainfall comes to an end overnight.
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
