Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Call it a soft opening of the new Rochester Police Dept. office.

The building is currently staffed by the department’s training, administrative, crime prevention and other personnel - and Police Chief Roger Peterson.

Some public services have been available for about a week or so but Peterson says the building won’t become full-service until early next year. He says that’s when accident reports and other services will be available. The City Council approved funding for the purchase and renovation costs because of cramped conditions at the LEC.

The northside office is located at the former Think Bank corporate site at the intersection of 41st St and West River Parkway NW.
