Duluth, MN (KROC AM News) - A woman who claimed she was under the effects of a sleeping pill when her car killed a pedestrian in Duluth earlier this year has been sentenced to four years in prison.

Sentenced Thursday was Theresa  Katzmark of Superior, Wisconsin. She will turn 50 next Friday - in prison.

Katzmark told police she had taken some Ambien and was under the influence of the drug when her car skidded off the road and came to a stop. 62-year-old Donna Estrem checked to see if she was okay and then began walking away. That’s when Katzmark put the car in gear and accelerated, pinning Estrem against a utility box and causing fatal injuries.
