A presidential pardon is usually used to get someone off the hook for some crime they've committed. So who's the Minnesotan President Trump pardoned Tuesday?

Well, if you haven't guessed by now, it was a Minnesotan by the name of 'Drumstick.' And, yes, he's a turkey. He hails from Carl and Sharlene Wittenberg's hobby farm near Alexandria, according to this GO-MN story. He and his brother, 'Wishbone,' both traveled to Washington, D.C. and were pardoned by the president yesterday.

Well, technically only Drumstick was pardoned-- he won the online Twitter vote. Wishbone tagged along for the ride as an alternate. (And don't worry, they're both safe from the president's Thanksgiving Day table-- they'll be spending their time at the Virginia Tech’s “Gobblers Rest” exhibit and sanctuary after yesterday's pardoning.)

The birds are from the National Turkey Association (NTA), a group that Carl Wittenberg currently heads. Which figures, because Minnesota is the biggest turkey-producing state in the country.

And interestingly, (though I'm not sure how they found this out) the online profile for Drumstick says he likes classic rock, with his favorite band being Journey. Meanwhile, Wishbone is a country fan, preferring Tim McGraw and Faith Hill.
