Rochester, MN  KROC AM News) - The end is in sight for a group that has been working on a new city flag for Rochester.

The Rochester Flag Project Committee says winners of the 2nd round selection process have been selected. They will be identified May 16th during an award ceremony. The committee says the final round will involve a public vote that will run from May 16 - June 24. The committee expects the winning design will be presented to Mayor Ardell Brede and the City Council for formal adoption in time for the city’s 160th anniversary on Aug. 5th.

The selection process began in Feb. 2017. The current flag was adopted in 1980.
