Stewartville, MN (KROC AM News) - An employee of the Pure Pleasure business in Stewartville was stabbed Wednesday morning by a shoplifting suspect.

The incident happened at 7:00 AM when the man was preparing to leave the adults-only store. An alarm sounded, indicating he was trying to leave with unpaid merchandise. The man returned to the checkout area and gave the employee a sample bottle of cologne. When the employee said he was going to call police, the man fled.

The employee ran after the man and began wrestling with him in the parking lot. Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Kirby Long says that’s when the man stabbed the employee in the thigh. The man then jumped into a car driven by his girlfriend and they drove off.

The employee was taken by ambulance to St. Marys. Long says his medical condition is unknown.

The man who stabbed him was described as “scruffy-looking”, white, 5-9, about 30-years-old with brown hair and facial hair.
