Canby, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating a traffic crash in southwestern Minnesota that claimed the life of a teenager.

The State Patrol report says the deadly crash occurred around 4:40 Saturday afternoon near Canby when an SUV driven by 18-year-old Donald Schuelke IV left a highway just west of the town in Yellow Medicine County and rolled in the ditch.

The teenage victim, who was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected during the crash, was from Minneota, another small town near Marshall that's about 15 miles southeast of Canby.

The State Patrol notes the roadway was dry at the time and the reason the teenage motorist lost control is unclear.
