Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man has been sentenced to spend a little over two months in jail and 15 years on probation for his conviction on a felony weapon possession charge.

22-year-old Daijoun Johnson earlier pleaded guilty to the charge, which stemmed from an investigation into reports of a shooting in March of last year at the Homestead Terrace apartments in southeast Rochester. People living in the apartment complex told police they heard sounds of an argument followed by gun shots.

The responding police officers found a number of spent shell casings at the scene. A car seen leaving the vicinity of the shooting was spotted a short time later parked outside a home in the 900 block of 1st Avenue Northeast by officers investigating reports of gunfire in that neighborhood.

Johnson was seen exiting the vehicle and going into the home, where police found him in possession of a handgun.
