Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) -The first freeze of the season in SE Minnesota is on its way.

Overnight temps will drop into the upper 20s before sunrise Friday, which will end the 2018 growing season for most of the region.

Property owners are advised to protect plants that could be affected and to consider removing outdoor hoses from faucets.

Below normal temps are expected across SE Minnesota over the next several days. Highs should get back into the 50s by the end of next week.

Snow fell across parts of NE Minnesota Wednesday with a record 2 ½ inches in International Falls. Another inch could fall in the region Thursday.

News Update: A final vote on the Bloom project should take place Monday.
