Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - An employee of a Rochester group home suffered broken teeth and other injuries during a vicious assault over the weekend.

Police say the assault occurred Saturday evening at the Village Ranch.

Police say a 16-year-old resident of the home became upset at the 46-year-old female employee and smashed a ceramic mug across her mouth and then began beating her. The woman was taken to St Marys Hospital to be treated for her injuries.

The teen was gone when officers arrived but was later apprehended. He is expected to face a felony assault charge.

The group home is located in the 1100 block of 1st Ave NE, near Silver Lake Park.
