Here is where I get into the ol, I used to have to wait for a half an hour in the bitter cold at the bus stop in the morning before school speech. I really remember days like that growing up, of course that was a long time ago.  I remember walking to the bus stop at the end of the street and then we had to stand and wait and wait and wait in the cold.   I will say however that I am happy to see that the school is recognizing how hard that is on kids to be out there when it is that freezing, and YAY!  They get a day off.

From our news reporter Andy Brownell, A forecast predicting life-threatening cold early next week has prompted the Rochester School District to make an announcement that classes next Monday have been canceled. The National Weather Service says wind chill readings Sunday night and Monday could be 40 to 50 below zero and the air temperature might only rise into the teens below zero Monday afternoon after dropping to between 20 and 25 below early Monday.  It could be the coldest blast of arctic air to visit the region since a record-setting cold snap in February of 1996.

Yowza!  Well then, how fun is this going to be???  Actually, come to think of it, I am not so sure I remember the weather being this cold in quite some time already this winter.   I think sometimes we just block stuff like that out of our memory.   I don't want to remember freezing after all...   I guess I am grateful that we have heaters and furnaces, can you imagine what they did as cavemen?   They probably had to cuddle in their caves with a fire.    Yes, thank you technology for making it at least tolerable to deal with really cold weather.

Seeings how we are looking at even more cold, here are a few tips to keep your house warmer.   One tip provided in this video I didn't even think of, add more curtains and rugs.
