Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester man was arrested Friday night after being accused of injuring his young child.

Police were contacted by the mother of the 2-year-old child. Officers found 8 to 10 inch long welts on the child's back, apparently caused by a belt.

The child was at the woman’s residence with the father and grandmother when the assault occurred. The grandmother heard the child being hit and called the mother. When the mother returned home and found the injuries,she confronted 38-year-old Hanot Rodriguez. He left but was later located and arrested.
