Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man has been given an opportunity to avoid prison for his involvement in a shooting that occurred almost exactly a year ago.

23-year-old Bolus Dimbiti admitted to a felony charge of reckless discharge of a firearm through a plea agreement that led to the dismissal of another felony charge and a gross misdemeanor.

On December 20th last year, Rochester Police found a number of spent shell casings and bullet holes in the third floor hallway in the Edge Apartments when officers responded to a report of gunfire after an argument broke out during a party in one of the apartments near the RCTC campus. Dimbiti was identified as a suspect through a security camera video, which shows him the firing a gun.

He was also involved in another shooting incident in the same area last September.

He was given a stayed 2 year prison sentence, but he will have to serve another four months in jail and spend 2 years on probation.
