As we approach a new school year, we're all wondering what awaits our kids at school. A good education? An "okay" education? Better?

In Rochester, we're doing really well! Niche explained that Rochester Public Schools is #20 on the list of "2019 Best School Districts in Minnesota". Apparently, it's #2 in the greater Rochester area. Byron nabbed the top spot.

What makes Rochester Public Schools ideal for 2019? According to Niche, it's strength in academics, College prep, sports and activity opportunities. It's also one of the most diverse school districts in Minnesota.

In the review portion of the site, one senior student wrote of their experience,

My experience in the Rochester Public Schools has been great. Teacher who care and an involved student body have made it a really good experience. I went through a tragedy while I was in middle school when my sister passed away, and the school community was a big support in helping me get through it. I've been involved in student clubs and sports, student government and school dances. I wouldn't change any of it.

The place where things could be improved is, of course, funding. Like many schools around the country, classes are too big and students are forced to pay for experiences like field trips and team uniforms.

Yep. The whole "rallying around each other during a hard time" sounds like Rochester to me! Does it sound familiar to you? Many other reviews mentioned a "family" feel within the district.

Is this good news for your kiddos?
