Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A single car crash on the west edge of Rochester has claimed the life of a Canadian man.

The State Patrol’s preliminary report on the incident indicates a 25-year-old man from Sault Ste. Marie was driving west on Highway 14 near the Country Club Manor neighborhood when his car left the roadway, went into the ditch, and struck a utility pole before flipping over and coming to rest on its top.

The deadly crash was report just after 8:30 a.m. The name of the victim has not been released.

The State Patrol also responded yesterday to a single-vehicle crash that injured Kasson woman. Officials reported 66-year-old Viki Schaal was driving a jeep on Highway 57 in Kasson shortly after 1 p.m when she lost control, causing the jeep to hit a driveway approach and roll over.

Schaal was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital with what were described as non-life threatening injuries.
