We all know Breakthrough had a busy 2017 in store, but their year just got busier.

If you still don't know them, some of their influences include Underoath, Switchfoot, Demon Hunter, As I Lay Dying, Creed and Alter Bridge. That's what your in for!

Val chatted with vocalist and guitarist PJ Medin, and got the scoop on two big things coming for the band.

Firstly, the Rochester band is going back into the studio this August and working on a new EP! This is definitely going to be a more rockin' record, and, as PJ explains, one that uses material they've previously written but haven't put to music yet.

The other news? Two big shows coming this weekend that you definitely need to check out! We'll let PJ himself tell you more.

Pretty cool, right? We're going to hear a lot more from these guys soon!

Side note: How cool does that studio sound? Here's a little more about The Library, where they are recording this summer; they explain it's a, "[...] large, full service recording facility in Minneapolis with multiple isolation rooms, a large drum room, ProTools HD3, a rack full of class A mic pre's, compressors and a literal library of vintage keyboards and instruments."

Want more info on the shows coming up? This Saturday, you can check out Breakthrough at The Garage in Burnsville (show starts at 6pm). Sunday, you can see them here.
