Eyota, MN (KROC-AM News) - A lockdown was implemented at an area high school Wednesday because of a reported incident Tuesday afternoon involving a handgun.

Olmsted County Sheriff’s Department Captain Scott Behrns says no one was allowed to enter or leave Dover Eyota High School while the incident was being investigated.

Behrns says the school learned of the incident this morning and it reportedly involved a student displaying a gun to another student. He says no one was hurt and the student suspected of making the threat was detained for questioning as investigators worked to determine the validity of the allegations.

Behrns says additional information about the investigation is expected to be released Thursday morning.

Reports from the scene late Wednesday afternoon indicated the lockdown was lifted at the end of the school day and students were sent home.
