Prosecutors Say Sexual Assualt Was a Re-enactment of ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’

Mohammad Hossain, a 19-year-old freshman, at the University of Illinois at Chicago has been charged with sexually assaulting a 19-year-old female in what prosecutors are describing as a re-enactment of scenes from the movie "Fifty Shades of Grey."

Prosecutors say the two had previously been intimate but were not dating. The complaint states that the two went to his dorm room about 5:30 p.m. last Saturday. Once inside, Hossain allegedly had the woman remove her clothing. He then tied her hands above her head with a belt, used another belt to bind her legs, and then placed a necktie in her mouth.

Hossain covered her eyes with a stocking cap and began hitting the woman with a belt. After hitting her several times, the woman started crying and telling him to stop.  According to the police report he continued striking the woman. She managed to get her arms free but he held them behind her back and sexually assaulted her.

Police arrested Hossain shortly after the incident.  His bail has been set at $500,000.
