Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) -There may be new restrictions involving future development projects in Rochester’s DMC District.

The City Council Monday will review a staff report on proposed changes to Rochester’s planning and zoning ordinance.

The report includes both proposed guidelines and requirements.

Among the proposed requirements are setback restrictions, building heights and high quality materials. The building height proposals call for a minimum of two stories of occupied space and a maximum of six floors in certain areas.

The proposals would affect all new buildings in the DMC District.

One of the major goals of the proposals is to create conformity in the district.
