The Townsquare Media Home, Vacation and RV show is coming up. That means two things: warmer weather and camping...oh...and beer...around the campfire. (That's 3. Sorry!)

Camping is one of my favorite things to do in the Summer. My wife and I go all the time. We've owned a camper since 2004 and we've come up with our own camping hacks over the years. Some of these "hacks" you may already know. If you've got any camping hacks of your own, feel fee to share them below.

Easy Fire Starters

  • Get a cardboard egg carton
  • Fill it with dryer lint
  • Pour candle wax over the lint

Throw some kindling on there then slowly add bigger pieces. This will burn for quite a while and we've always had good luck with them, even when the wood was a little damp.

Doritos© also work as kindling if you can't find any.

Cool Looking Fire

loading...
  • Requires some old, color Christmas lights
  • Ball them up and throw them in the fire
  • Also, a garden hose in a piece of copper looks cool too.

Warm Beer? Chill It Fast with a Little Ice, Salt & Water

  • Check out a video I made about this by clicking here.
  • Cold beer in two minutes

Extra Lighting Around Your Camper

  • By inserting a standard fuse into your camper plug, you could have your trailer lights on for some extra lighting.
  • Keep in mind that I am NOT responsible for any thing that might happen. Not that anything WILL happen. I've been doing this for a couple years and never have a problem. I see other people doing it all the time. Still kind of cool.

Brian's Caramel Salty Balls

  • Buy your standard caramel squares
  • marshmallows
  • Pillsbury Biscuits in a can
  • Butter
  • Cinnamon sugar

Stuff a caramel inside a marshmallow then wrap in a Pillsbury Biscuit. Put it on the end of a stick and hold it over the campfire until golden brown. Once done, roll it in butter then roll it in the cinnamon sugar. Consume. (WARNING: Not good with beer)
