Rochester, MN (Learfield Wire Services/TTWN Media Networks) - The union representing food service workers at the Mayo Clinic locations in Rochester, Mankato, Albert Lea and Fairmont today announced a tentative contract agreement has been reached with Morrison Healthcare.

The proposed five-year contract will cover hundreds of Morrison employees, many of whom previously worked for the Mayo Clinic before it outsourced the food service operations last year.

Bargaining team member Barb Andrew says, “It’s a relief. It’s a lot of weight off all of our shoulders, to get some of the securities back is a great relief for everyone.”

Andrew cited vacation time and holidays, along with strong health care benefits as some of the provisions that will help her sleep better at night, especially with changes in the healthcare industry at the national level.

Union members are scheduled to vote on the proposed contract next week.
