Wabasha, MN (KROC-AM News) - An area man responsible for killing a motorcyclist from Eyota has pleaded guilty to criminal vehicular homicide.

35-year-old Josh Hansen of rural Kellogg was intoxicated when the SUV he was driving crashed into a motorcycle driven by 34-year-old Christopher Nelson on Highway 42 near Plainview last October. Nelson was pronounced dead at the scene.

Hansen was also accused of spitting in the face of one of the law officers at the crash site. A fourth degree assault charge stemming from that allegation and a third degree murder charge connected to the deadly crash were dismissed as part of the plea agreement.

Hansen, who has two previous DUI convictions, is scheduled to be sentenced at the Wabasha County Courthouse on May 30th.
