It's been and long and tough effort, but Nuno Bettencourt of Extreme reports that the band is just about finished with a new album.

We know that the follow up to 2008's Saudades de Rock includes "17 songs", and Nuno expects its release next year. He says, "We're going to release it early next year. Whether that's February or early spring, but definitely not past the spring." So, we could have our hands on some new music pretty soon!

Additionally, Nuno says he doesn't want to album to sound like anything he's done in the past - but stay rock n' roll. He's making more use of a seven-string guitar that he has this time around.

If you're wondering what they've been up to previously, they've been celebrating the fifteenth anniversary of Pornograffitti and plan on releasing LIVE 25 (a collection of live tunes marking the anniversary) worldwide later this month. They're also currently in the middle of touring Asia, and stopping in South Korea later this month.
