Heritage Days is here in Faribault and there is plenty to do. If you are like me, new to town and have never attended a Heritage Days before here are five things you should do or try this weekend. 

Carnival at the park 
Head on down to Central Park for the amusement rides, food and plenty of fun! Pick up your tickets to ride the rides. Thursday 5 - 11 p.m. Friday 3 - Midnight, and Saturday Noon to 10 p.m.
Take in a concert
Heritage Days has got a ton of music and concerts going on most evenings. Head on down and enjoy a variety of music and different locations around Faribault! On Thursday night in Central Park at 7 p.m., there will be music by The 8th Street Band. On Friday 8 p.m. – 12 p.m. Music will be by the group Smoke Screen. Finally on Saturday at the Band Shell in Central Park from 11:45 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. there will be music by Luke Smith (11:45-12:45), Mad Pipes (1-2), Credit Report (2:15-3:15), and Lo Rumble II (3:30-5:30). Then at 8 p.m., there will be a dance with music by Magic Sunshine Band.
Take in the parade Saturday
The parade will run along Second Avenue Northwest from the Fairgrounds to Central Park. The parade will begin at 6 p.m. and the grand marshal is Mona Kaiser. 
See the Main Street Car Show!
The car show will run Friday evening in Downtown Faribault from 6 – 9 p.m. It's a great event for people who love to see old restored cars and cruise down memory lane.
Attend the Youth Fishing Contest Saturday
The contest is at the King Mill Dam Saturday from 9 – 11 a.m. There is no need to register just have your kids bring a fishing rod. Bait minnows will be provided, and there will be awards issued for the top fish. All of the kids who participate will get a T-shirt too!
