Halestorm's fourth studio album, Vicious, is set for a summer release and it finds the band ramping up the intensity after exploring some new dynamics like pop and country on their last record, Into the Wild Life. All four of the band's members swung by the Loudwire studio to discuss the album and the lead single, "Uncomfortable."

In the video above, Lzzy Hale explains how the group was pushed in the studio under the direction of producer Nick Raskulinecz, who has worked with Alice in Chains, Korn, Trivium, Stone Sour, Deftones, Ghost, Rush and many more. "He pushed us to the limits," says Hale, noting that when they felt they had something that really rocked, Raskulinecz replied, "No, you can rock more. I've seen you live; I know what you can do."

This harder direction is evidenced in "Uncomfortable." The song's lyrics are empowering, encouraging anyone feeling downtrodden to realize they can take control of their own situation. The cover for Vicious also touches on these themes and guitarist Joe Hottinger reveals the concept behind the artwork.

Halestorm will embark on a co-headlining tour with In This Moment this summer with support coming from New Years Day and Stitched Up Heart on select dates. The run kicks off in mid-July and you can see a list of all upcoming dates here. Vicious will be out July 27 and pre-orders are available now at this location.
