(KROC AM) -- The 2017 Golden Gopher Road Trip, featuring several high profile head coaches, rolled into Byron yesterday afternoon at Somerby Golf and Country Club.

Among the coaches speaking to the 360 Gopher fans in attendence were head basketball coach Richard Pitino, hockey coach Don Lucia,  new head football coach P.J. Fleck and
Athletic director Mark Coyle.

Fleck says he is excited about getting to see parts of the state for the very first time and told fans he wants to establish not just a winning culture, but a championship culture.
In all, the traveling party will visit 15 cities and towns over six days this week and in early June.

The Road Trip continues today in Owatonna, Fairmont, and New Ulm.
