Gasoline Fire at Rochester Convenience Store
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A fire broke out Tuesday at a Rochester convenience store after a motorist drove off with a gasoline nozzle still attached to the vehicle, ripping a pump off its base.
A small amount of gasoline leaked before the shutoff valve activated and a spark from the pump’s wiring set off the fire. Rochester firefighters put out the fire right away and there was no other damage.
The incident happened around 2:30 p.m. at the Baraka store located at 1003 N, Broadway, near the McDonald’s restaurant.
It’s not known if the driver was located.
