Bemidji, MN (KROC AM News) - Five people have been charged in connection to the death of a minor who fell from Bemidji State University’s Tamarack Hall in late September.

According to the Bemidji Pioneer, each of the five individuals, Bryce Mattson, Jack Mathison, Aaron Trebelhorn, Zachary Morse and Jordan Swan, have been charged with two counts of gross misdemeanor for furnishing alcohol to minors.

Officials arrived to the scene in the early morning hours outside of Tamarack Hall at BSU where they found Isaac Morris, 19, of Cokato, Minn. after he fell from the seventh floor of Tamarack Hall, according to the Bemidji Pioneer. The Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Officer confirmed that Morris died of significant internal head trauma. The death was classified as an accident.

Later, authorities confirmed Morris had been consuming alcohol at a party off campus before making his way back to BSU. A press release from the Beltrami County Attorney’s Office noted that Mattson, Mathison and Trebelhorn “pooled funds” to purchase beer kegs and then sold cups for the attendees of the party to access the beer. Morse and Swan also purchased kegs and “provided the location to hold the party.”

According to a warrant that was filed during the investigation, the Bemidji Pioneer is reporting that a BSU campus safety officer had confronted both Morris and a BSU student on the seventh floor. The campus safety officer contacted Bemidji police, and officers “had just arrived on scene before” Morris was found on the ground.
