The 2015 Viking season is underway as the Vikes just wrapped up their first week of camp. As expected, the focus has been on Adrian Peterson, who has returned with a new look, now wearing a mirror visor. With the return of AP and the young talent developing, it has been a fun start to the season.

It was a hot first week in Mankato, but that hasn't stopped the Vikings faithful from showing up to support their team. Teddy Bridgewater looks like he will be the week one starter which should be a surprise to no one. As for the second string spot, it looks like Shaun Hill will be taking the QB2 spot over Mike Kafka.

Bridgewater will, hopefully, finally have a healthy Kyle Rudolph to throw to this fall. Kyle Rudolph has had a strong first week. According to Arif Hanson, of the Daily Norseman, Rudolph has done a great job making catches in traffic and has not been shy of taking hits. Stefon Diggs has also had a pretty good first training camp. At Maryland, one of Diggs' main weaknesses was his inability to run routes. So far in camp that seems to not be a problem for Diggs. Not only has Diggs been able to run good routes but has created notable separation from defenders. Not bad for a rookie 5th round pick.

The defense is very young but very talented. Second-year man, Scott Crichton has shown notable progress, as has Audie Cole, as well. Anthony Barr is still recovering from an injury but showed his athleticism is still top notch as he has participated in drills. Rookie Eric Kendricks also had a strong first week, which is very encouraging for Vikings fans. 2015 first round pick Trae Waynes has had a disappointing first week, but judging him this early would be a mistake, since it is his first week of playing professional football.

The team is young, and fans need to be patient. Bridgewater may make mistakes, as well as Waynes, Barr, and Kendricks. But it is no secret to anyone that the core that Minnesota has built with these guys is no joke. It is clear that the NFL community has taken note of the Vikings talent as KC Joyner named the Vikings one of his Super Bowl sleepers for this upcoming season. If that doesn't get Vikings fans excited for the season then nothing will.
