Eyota, MN (KROC AM News) - A large barn in rural Olmsted County went up in flames Monday night.

The Olmsted County Sheriff's Office says the fire was reported around 6 p.m. at 3407 125th Ave SE, which is south of Eyota. The 16 x 20 pole shed was engulfed in flames when fire crews arrived and it was destroyed.

Owner Dana Allen-Tully says there was a large amount of cattle feed in the building, along with a skid loader and other equipment. The loss was estimated at $500,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Firefighters from Eyota and Dover spent a few hours bringing the blaze under control.
