The Ronald McDonald House of Rochester, Minnesota, in partnership with McNeilus Companies is requesting donations of aluminum cans and pop tabs for the Cans for Kids Collection Day on Saturday, March 4, 2017. All proceeds raised from this recycling event will directly support children and families who call the Ronald McDonald House of Rochester, MN their home-away-from-home.

A McNeilus truck will be in the parking lot of the Ronald McDonald House, 850 2nd St. SW, accepting aluminum cans and pop tabs from 8 a.m. to noon. In appreciation, McDonald’s Restaurants will provide a beverage coupon for each person making a donation.

Aluminum recycling has helped to support the Ronald McDonald House of Rochester for over 15 years.  Throughout the years, Cans for Kids events have raised over $18,000. In addition to supporting the House and its guests, all aluminum donations are recycled locally – diverting cans from Rochester landfills and contributing to a greener community.

The Ronald McDonald House of Rochester, MN provides a home-away-from-home and offers support to families seeking medical care for their children.

In 2015, The Ronald McDonald House of Rochester, MN served 863 families from 36 states across the United States and 16 different countries. The House is a 501C3 non-profit organization. Governed by a volunteer board of trustees, the House hosts 42 families each night and has been in operation since 1980.
