Don’t Let The Weather Stop Your Trout Opener!
The weather has been dreadful to kick off spring here in Minnesota, but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy the 2018 Trout Opener!
In the heart of Fillmore County and the driftless area is home to some of the best trout finishing in the nation. Anglers from all over come to the region to fish some of the best freshwater streams there are. Well, this year, the trout opener may be hampered by some awful weather (Imagine that). Well, the National Trout Center is helping out anyway!
The Trout "Opener" House is an event for all families to check out some amazing crafts and games. There will be free trout cookies, smoked trout and....possibly....trout punch!
The entire event is free at the National Trout Center right in Preston. If you are looking to get out of the house, it might be a great way to enjoy the opener without having to deal with mother nature as much.
