Coach K Watches Rochester JM Game, Chats With Fans
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - One of the most famous college basketball coaches of all time was in the gym at Rochester John Marshall Thursday night - watching, not coaching.
Duke men’s basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski sat alone on a top bleacher seat to watch a player who is being heavily recruited by several top programs in the country. And JM's Matthew Hurt did not disappoint as he poured in half his team’s points in a lopsided win over Northfield.
Among the others in the crowd was Rochester Mayor Kim Norton, who says Coach K chatted with some fans and signed autographs. It’s not known when Hurt will announce which college he will play for next season. Norton says a rumor making the rounds during the game is April 20 - which would be Hurt’s 19th birthday.
