Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Chatfield couple has been ordered to pay over $274,000 in restitution to the estate of their deceased grandmother to replace some of the money taken from her bank accounts. 34-year-old Jason and 42-year-old Jessica Polikowsky were also placed on probation for up to 20 years and will spend 45 days in jail in each of the next eight years, although they could be excused from serving the final four annual stints in jail if they meet the terms of their probation.

The couple was convicted earlier this year on 11 counts each of Financial Exploitation of a Vulnerable Adult in a criminal case that dates back to 2009. Jason’s father, 67-year-old Donald Polikowsky previously entered into a plea agreement and was sentenced to five years on probation and was ordered to pay $66,000 in restitution. The three family members were accused of taking $400,000 from the accounts of Donald Polikowsky’s mother and Jason’s ailing grandmother and using the funds for their own benefit.
